Nice Smoky Mountains photos

A few nice smoky mountains images I found:

Smoky Mountains at Dawn

Taken on October 13, 2006 at 6:37 A.M. from Clingman’s Dome, 6,643 feet above sea level. It’s the highest point in both the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Tennessee, and the second highest point east of the Mississippi. It’s a seven-mile drive to the top, and I was speeding because I could see light a-comin’. It was one of the best sunrises I’ve seen. More photos to come.

It was actually a nice day in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but not at the top of the highest mountain in the range. I took the pictures anyway, and you can imagine the view.

(It had cleared up quite a bit by 2010.)
