  4. Just adoreable. Leave it to kids to find ideas. :)

  5. HillbillysNdaBush says:

Excellent point. However our freezer is located in a inclosed porch attached to the house.

  6. explorur1959 says:

If your freezer you use to make the ice with is inside the house, it’s going to throw out more heat to make the ice.

    Swamp coolers! Very nice!

  8. CaptainChaos6MM says:

Great idea, I can see where bigger containers could be used with the same design and function, thanks for sharing.

  9. TheLightHouseLady says:

    cool idea

  10. Great job Alex. I might just have to do this with my boys ! Good job describing how to do this !
    Long LIVE The CONSTITUTION !!!

    nice

Also be sure to remove metering device inside coupling nut where small line connects to several very small lines at A-coil, if present. If very small lines are just soldered to the larger line via a crimp you are in business. Also a 55 gal steel drum full of water, pumping to coil and returned to drum via some inverted misting sprinklers becomes evaporative AC. Not as cool but still works well enough to drop the temp several degrees. Also old condenser fan makes great attic/exhaust fan.

  13. Wiltshire Man says:

Good idea James. I hope it cools down for you guys soon.

  14. HillbillysNdaBush says:

No i didnt, it rained right after we made them and it cooled off anyway…lol figures… but tomorrow will be a different day.

  15. HillbillysNdaBush says:

I seen that today… i have been thinking about making that 1 as well. I have the copper line and a nice fan, and a boat bilge pump to circulate the water flow.

  16. HillbillysNdaBush says:

Hmm very interesting, as i have a bilge pump that i use for my …eheem water purifier that distills nasty water to make purified water. I have the componets on hand. I will give that some thought… i am sure it will work, the mechanics are sound.

  17. HillbillysNdaBush says:

    Hmmm….i dont see why not.

  18. gander2000 says:

Great idea!! Wonder if during cold weather it would work in reverse with hot water? For a tent or camper.

  19. ZivasCasa says:

    great idea!!

  20. wyattoneable says:

Good idea. I bet it would work fine for a small space. Thanks Alex.

  21. Minimalist Prepper says:

Nice job, Alex! High five !!

  22. Redbirds1100 says:

If I could I would send you one take care Doug

  23. ChaplainJoe1 says:

You ain’t thinkin like a hillbilly. Cando is one word. 😉

  24. ChaplainJoe1 says:

Get a LARGE cooler, freeze ya some gallon jugs, get a small pond pump from HD or Lowes, drop in the cooler with ice jugs, add water, connect pump line to suction line (larger) on A/C coil, run drain line from small A/C line to cooler. Plug in, turn A/C fan only. Cold water runs through A-coil to cool the house. Did it when mine went out after Hurricane Ike. It really works great. Depending on home size the gallon jugs of ice should last for hours and you can freeze more and rotate as needed.

  25. spectralmunchkin says:

Looks like Hillbilly is just another word for “can do”. Ah darn that’s two words! Great job fellas

  26. beactivelife says:

Been there before my friend, I made another one with copper coiling and a Fan in the past. Thanks for sharing

  27. magicdonjuan27 says:

If this works .. could be very useful for indoor growing . Did you check the temperature gauge inside to see how much it lowered ?

  28. arkansasprepper says:

Nice!….Thanks for showing how to do it.
