  13. brynisha030506 says:

Avastylist… you’re welcome. My kids even loved these and I don’t think they care for my yams in the past. I’m definitely using this as my yam recipe in the future. The only issue I had was cutting raw yam. Hard as heck. I tried every big knife.

  14. Avastylist says:

Thanks so much for replying and that is exactly what i did bought real maple syrup. I hope mine turn out as great as yours sound!!! Thanks again!

  15. Avastylist says:

    Thanks for answering my question.

  16. Yes she is talking about maple syrup.

  17. brynisha030506 says:

@avastylist I would assume yes real maple syrup. I wasn’t sure either but made sure to get the 100% maple syrup and my recipe turned out absolutely delicious. Very best yams I’ve ever made!

  18. brynisha030506 says:

Wonderful! I used this recipe, the greens, and mac cheese today for Christmas dinner. Thank you for sharing these wonderful recipes! Helped me make myamily the best Christmas dinner ever!

  19. Avastylist says:

Trying to make these today but I’m a little confused. When you say maple are you talking about maple syrup that goes on pancakes?

  20. Starts at 00:55

    Your welcome.

  22. Jade Cannon says:

Instead of just putting the yams in the oven you can boil them and then put them in the oven

  23. OneChocolateTeeGurl says:

I made this and it was RIDICULOUSLY delicious! This will be on my Christmas table this year! :-)

  24. Those yams looked delicious! I had to lol because my husband sold that knife set 20yrs ago, now my nepew sells them and I just gave myself the gift of their peeler and cutting board. It is an awesome set even 20 years later!!

  25. iMuffinsx3 says:

the thing to do is to do things….Delbert

  27. Snapshotok2000 says:

    Very informative video.
When you see Mr. Delbert again, ask him how he got that container to use as a house, how did he get the land, and how much was the container and how was it delivered. I think he has a good start since its only been a few months since he started.
    Thanks much for the video.

  28. SassaFrass Mitchell says:

I am from Lampasas! How have I never heard of this man?

  29. Golden Vapors says:

This is a cool vid. Ever since I experimented with fasting I see what an illusion consumption is, man was made to thrive as an immortal being without any rules.

This gives a lot of hope to us city folk who will work but dont want exactly to be on the streets of downtown if the economy tanks. I’d be right where this guy is. I just found a 40 inch working tv and a 30 inch one the week before that walking around the neighborhood on garbage day.

People have no idea how peaceful life should be.

  30. jebradshawjr says:

I stop frequently when passing through. I did run into him last trip and was able to ask some follow up questions and topics people have asked and wondered as a result of this video. I had an extremley low cell phone battery and was only able to do an audio recording…and some how I managed to corrupt the file and was unable to use it. I shall try again soon, as I will be passing through often during deer season.

  31. tonynassih says:

Nice video. Have you talked to Delbert since?

  32. dibaby1970 says:

I love it! I am trying to convince my husband we need to get off the grid. He doesn’t seem to take anything but football seriously though, so we’ll be lucky to have a tent to our name if the SHTF. I am doing my best with no help. Delbert, you rock!

  33. jebradshawjr says:

“leading questions” are for attorneys. I am not an attorney. I had no agenda. I am not a fed. You need not fear me sir.

  34. Thanks for the video. Didn’t care for the leading and agenda seeking questions you asked of what seemed like an honest fella. Anyone can dig or drill a well own their own but hiring a well driller is another government involved mess as they want to control it. They know they have a market cornered and they charge for it. Thank you to the Feds..EPA.

  35. i was thinking the exact same thing!

  36. where can you fidn this? i was looking online to have that done and the prices were ridiculous

  37. Murray Mayhem says:

    cool vid thanks

  38. I could listen to this guy share his story for a week. Smart, energetic and humble. The perfect Aryan man.

  39. swankman75 says:

Can’t believe it !!! I looked at this exact property when it was up for sale. I ended up buying property in Cross Plains, Texas. I’m also working on being as self-suficient as possible and am building a house mostly out of recycled materials. Moving there in a little over a year from now. Small world. : ) Yes, the property already had pecan trees planted and the neighbors have a small peach orchard. (You can see it in the video.)

  40. Interesting guy. The thing I appreciate most about him is that he isn’t somewhere asking the government to give him handouts. Even though he is down on his luck he is out there trying to do the best he can with what he has.

Guys like this make me proud to be a Texan.

    Thanks for the video jebradshawjr.

  41. robertsmi9 says:

Why is everyone hating on this guy. I want to say thank you for capturing the moment to bring us this video. I love how it is not staged or planed out. Great video and I hope to see more.

  42. robertsmi9 says:

Where can you get someone to drill for a few hundred buck, I have been priced $2500-$3200 from three different people and the water table is only 45 feet down.

  43. HardcoreFourSix says:

Holy crap, I used to live near Lampasas (Kempner), and I hit caliche after a foot or two. I dug much deeper at Ft. Hood (fighting positions). That is one motivated dude digging that deep by hand!

  44. Ken LaVere says:

Thank you for sharing! Very inspiring!

  45. ninjafalco says:

    Fallout is in our future!

  46. ThePataks says:

sorry mate your theory is not supported by science. a battery is a closed system the ground doesn’t come into it at all. unless you turn the battery upside down with both electrodes in the ground the circuit will not be closed and no current will flow and therefore there will be no drain. proximity to the earth does not drain batteries.

  47. William Presley says:

It’s ironic that if you to Google Maps, put in the coordinates 31.351708-98.176163, pull up street view and go about 50-100 yards north there’s a dead deer on the side of the highway.

  48. MLSToXiCChRoNiC says:

    try a few thousand

  49. Warsrogue says:

That use to be true 50 yrs ago, batteries were made in a rubberized casing they would have microscopic cracks that would leach out power if on wet ground, concrete.

  50. he could have used a hand auger to get to there. then installed a pump
